White Nights, St. Petersburg, Russia.
During a period between Mid-June and August, the sun will not set completely.  It will dip below the
horizon and the evening sky looks like this pretty much all evening until sunrise.  The photo on the left
was taken at 3:00am  This is a lovely time to be in St. Pete!
The Kremlin, Moscow and the Remains of the Kolomna Kremlin
Many Russian cities have a Kremlin - a citadel or fortress built around the central parts of a city to protect
government buildings.  The Kolomna kremlin was biult in the 12th century!  Below, see a panorama of the
Kazan (Russia)  Kremlin .
Crowd Gathering For a Show On Nevsky Prospekt, St. Petersburg, Russia
The Winter Palace, St. Petersburg, Russia
An extraordinary place to visit.  In addition to being a former palace for the royal family, it also houses the
Hermitage Museum - one of the world's (in my opinion - THE best) biggest and most impressive art
collections!  DaVinci, Monet, Rembrandt, Renoir, Van Gogh, Matisse - it's all here and more!  Admission
costs only about $10.00 US!
Peterhof Palace, Tsarkoye Selo Palace St. Petersburg, Russia (Suburbs)
About an hour's drive from the city center is the breath-taking homes of Peter The Great  and
Catherine The Great- both remarkable feats of architecture, especially Petrhof,  with flowing
fountains and a channel that reaches to the sea is a must - see on your first trip to the Venice of the
North!  Your Russian girl will take you there!
Interiors
If you ever wonder what some of these grand structures look like on the inisde... to

The Great Lady Of Kazan Cathedral, St. Petersburg, Russia
Soviet-Style Apartment Buildings, St. Petersburg, Russia
One of the first impressions I had of St. Pete - as my plane descended over the city - was the clusters of
apartment buildings like these.  You will see them in groups of 10 or 12, all completely uniform in size and
dimension.  Many Russian girls live in buildings such as these.  Don't be deceived - many flats are quite nice
inside despite outer appearances.
Metro (Subway) Stations in St. Petersburg
Metro stations in Russia are drastically different than here in the U.S.  They are clean, decorated and
impressive.  On the right is Maykovskaya (been there many times) where those entry ways in the walls
go directly into trains.  On the left is the Atvovo station,  (also in ST. Petersburg)  - considered to be one
of the most beautiful subway metros in the world!
Red Square, Moscow, Russia
One of the world's most famous city squares!  St. Basil's Cathedral is on the left, with the Kremlin - in
which officially resides the President of Russia - to the right.
Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine
A large industrial city in the heart of Ukraine.  Many, many beautiful Ukrainian ladies live here,
seemingly hidden like precious jewels from the rest of the world

Yet, as modern and beautiful as some cities in Ukraine are, there are those more remote, seemingly lost-in-time places as well.
Both fortresses above are in western Russia.
